@HigginsChorus The HMS grade level choruses are open to all students and serves as an opportunity for them to explore their interests in music through singing. Young singers can expect to experience a varied repertoire and work on musical skills like sight reading, dynamics, and basic piano. Signups for the HMS grade level choruses take place at the start of each school year, and at the beginning of each semester (after the grade level concerts) Chorus is scheduled during the regular school day during exploratory blocks. Singers are expected to participate in their performances throughout the school year, including one winter and spring concert. Eighth Graders have one additional performance at the High School in March. Participation in these performances are reflected in the student's grade. Chorus will run during Quarters 2, 3 and 4. Any student at the Higgins Middle School may audition for Select Choir. Select Choir auditions are every September, and rehearse after school on Thursdays. You must sing a scale ("do-re-mi..."), do call-and-response, basic sight reading, and have :30-:60 seconds of a song of your choice prepared.
